About LA Dance and Movement
LA Dance and Movement exists to serve youth and adults of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels by offering dance and movement classes, workshops, articles, and events to uncover the potential of the physical body and align with authentic joy and power through the art of dance and movement.
In light of COVID-19 and #blacklivesmatter, LADM missions to reawaken the soul of our communities to provide a true sense of safe alternatives to exercise, expand dance and movement offerings that actualize Cultural Equity and Inclusion, and be a hub for youth and adults to enjoy learning the art of movement and dance.
At the core of life is movement; cherishing all that the body is capable of and honoring your physical body everyday by moving. You are here to live your best life, and live it passionately. Amber Adams has been in the dance and fitness industries for over 20 years. She has an active following on the westside of Los Angeles through various roles and institutions. She currently teaches several classes at UCLA, including Ballet Fundamentals, Ballet Repertoire, Jazz, Barre Fitness, and Pilates Reformer. Amber is also a lead teacher and former manager at Equinox's Santa Monica and West LA locations.
Through LADM, Amber provides weekly corporate wellness classes to major companies headquartered in Santa Monica and Venice respectively. Additionally, Amber sees several high-end clients privately, and also serves as the Festival Producer for Dance Camera West, a globally recognized dance film curator.
Previously, Amber taught for Joffrey Ballet, Peri Dance Center, Ballet Academy East, and was a former manager of the Pilates Department for Equinox in NYC.
She founded and directed Cape Fear Dance Theatre (2013-2017) and the Cape Fear Dance Festival in Wilmington, NC. CFDT implemented dance education into public and private schools in the South East as well as offered adult dance and fitness classes to the community.
Amber danced professionally in NYC, NC, Chicago, and Athens, Greece in on and off-broadway shows: Oklahoma!, Mama Mia, Cabaret, Chicago, Rocky Horror, Happenstance, and 8 Million Protagonists. She danced in ballets: The Nutcracker, Copelia, Swan Lake, A Tea for Ruby, Stars and Stripes, among others.
Amber is a graduate of University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied Ballet and Contemporary Dance. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Marymount Manhattan College. Amber is a certified Dance Master of America, a certified Senior Pilates Instructor, a Teacher Trainer, and currently working on her Gyrotonic license.
